The first thing that popped into my mind was Inception. It just reminded me so much of the movie and what was explained in the movie. I have always been interested in dreams and that was one of the big reasons why I really wanted to see Inception. When I saw it I just loved the whole 'concept' but actually the whole dream state things explained in the movies are actually based all on lucid dreaming.
Looking up on the information of lucid dreaming just made the movie Inception even more brilliant for me.
For example in the movie they explained how time is multiplyed in every dream and how the amount grows the deeper you go. With lucid dreaming something similar happens, the dreamer controls the perception of time. The dreamer can control the length of the dream it self.
Another thing was how the dreamer in the movie Inception had a totem to know if they are dreaming. The character would use the totem such as the spinner. This refers to the methods of lucid dreaming. For example by remembering an object in real life or by asking yourself everyday if you are dreaming at rather odd moments. You will be more prone to automaticly save that thought in your mind so that you can ask that same question in your dream.
There really is alot of information about lucid dreaming and there has been alot of research about it for a long time already. For the time being I'm going to try and attempt the methods to start lucid dreaming. Since I noticed that when I dream I can only spectate it. I think it would be interesting to actually control your dream.
Sounds freaky but yeah, why not (:
Dreaming is a beautiful gift.
